Bonus Reviews

Bonus Reviews are just simpler versions of regular reviews. I will still discuss the game thoroughly and explain the pros and cons, but in a more concise way. Such games that will require a bonus review in place of a regular review, include shorter game experiences such as DSi Ware downloads including Photo Dojo, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini's March Again, and Game and Watch: Donkey Kong Jr. The only bonus review that has a scheduled review so far is Excitebike 3D for the Nintendo 3DS handheld. This review will be posted on July 17th 2011. Check back then!

A Perfect 10 in Gaming

I'll admit it now; I am a Nintendo Fanboy. Anything Nintendo I must have especially when it comes to the Mario and Zelda franchises. I was first in line to get the recently released Nintendo 3DS handheld, and got the Wii and DS on day one. For the past few years I have expanded my Nintendo gaming library exponentially and plan to keep adding to the collection with this year's Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 3DS, Super Mario 3DS, and so on. I've recently decided why not share my opinions of these fantastic games with the world, putting my gaming skills to good use? Well, that's what I've decided to do, so I am preparing my first review, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, as we speak. Make sure to check back on July 10th for the full written review. But with my first review being a re-make of such a classic, unforgettable game, the question surely arises of what score it will be receiving, after all it is my very first review, will I be bias and give all the games 10.0's? Well, the answer is simply no.

Who knows, maybe since OoT is such a great game it will receive a perfect score but only time will tell. But I will warn you now, I'm not exactly keen on the idea of handing out a bunch of 10's to all of my favorite games. Only an absolute masterpiece deserves the honor of a 10, and that's something that doesn't come around very often. Are Ocarina of Time's new graphics, amazing soundtrack, intriguing story, and masterful gameplay good enough to deserve a 10? Well that seems to be a question that a lot of people are wondering, and it certainly is a valid one. For my opinion on that, you'll have to check out the official review on the 10th of July, but for now, read on to see what a game needs to have in order to receive a perfect 10.

In order for a game to receive a perfect 10.0 score, it needs to have a lot of things. A great story, an unbelievable soundtrack, phenomenal graphics, an outstanding amount of game content, tons of replayability, spot-on controls, fantastic and unique gameplay elements, amazing level design, and most importantly, an everlasting unforgettable experience. Well right now, I can think of a whole lot of games that contains all of these elements, one being Ocarina of Time, but then again, OoT 3D is a re-make, and since when does a port stand up to an original. That's the thing though, OoT 3D is not just a simple port, as a matter of fact most of the game was built from the ground up, and that's certainly saying something. Then again, not everything has been fixed in the newest version of the N64 classic, but certainly a few minor issues won't take the 10 from OoT 3D, right? Well, that's absolutely correct, I'm not the kind of reviewer that's going to hold back the 10 because of one or two minor problems, no game is absolutely perfect...ever, I don't care what you say. However, a heck of a lot of games have been as close to perfect as possible and the original Ocarina of Time is one of those few. So what do you think, what score will "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D" receive? Don't forget its being reviewed on a 20-point scale, so scores like 9.8 and 9.9 are out of the option. Comment in the comment field below and make sure to let me know what you think of the site. :)
